Monica is a vibrant, Mexican multimedia storyteller who believes that film is a powerful tool that transcends borders, connecting people and ideas.
Her work spans local documentary projects and narrative films, including producing, filming, and editing a short community-based documentary for the nonprofit Philadelphia Lawyers for Social Equity. The project featured Renee Chenault Fattah, a respected journalist and former NBC 10 News co-anchor. Additionally, Monica wrote and directed Guía, a short narrative film about an ancestor who defies the afterlife’s rules to save her granddaughter from a disastrous date. Her passion for storytelling was also recognized when she was interviewed and featured in a video about youth defining their own narratives through filmmaking and digital media arts.
In addition to film, Monica has experience in social media coordination, where they have applied their creative and strategic thinking to build audience engagement, manage content, and execute marketing strategies. Their background in social media marketing, combined with a dedication to impactful storytelling, has allowed them to work on projects that inspire, entertain, and promote meaningful conversations.
